servicesNutrition counseling starts with a thorough assessment based on your medical issues, weight, nutrition needs, dietary intake, exercise routines, personal goals and your lifestyle (sleep patterns, stress management and spiritual health).

Whether for weight loss, medical reasons, or to make a healthy lifestyle change, a specialized nutrition and lifestyle plan will be developed for you.

Nutrition education will be based on your plan and include, but not be limited to: My Plate, portion sizes, grocery shopping techniques, meal planning, recipes suggestions, tips for “eating out”, tips for “eating on the go”, healthy snacking and reading food labels. As your Coach, I will address the other lifestyle issues that may be affecting your health and well-being. I believe that being healthy is not just the food we eat, but encompasses our emotional well-being, our stress levels, our sleep patterns, our relationships, and our spiritual or religious paths and beliefs.

Individual Nutrition Counseling

Initial Session: 60 minutes
Follow-up Sessions: 30- 45 minutes

Group or Family Nutrition Counseling

Initial Session: 90 minutes
Follow-up Sessions: 45 minutes
4-6 Follow-up Sessions are recommended


Medical Nutrition Therapy Counseling

Nutrition counseling is available for Diabetes Management, Heart Disease (High Cholesterol, Congestive Heart Failure, Hypertension or High Blood Pressure), Gastrointestinal issues (Celiac Disease, Reflux, Lactose Intolerance, Ulcerative Colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome), Hypothyroidism and Renal Disease. Based on your nutrition needs and current medical conditions, recommendations will be offered to help you manage your condition.

Initial Session: 60 minutes
Follow-up Sessions: 30 minutes
4 Follow-up Sessions are recommended


Sports Nutrition Counseling

Sports nutrition counseling can give individual athletes and teams a competitive edge. Through nutrition counseling, improvements in performance are possible by increasing endurance, increasing energy and/or increasing strength and power. Counseling can be sport specific and position specific. Having an RD on your team can give you a leg up on the competition.

Follow-up Sessions: 30 minutes
4 Follow-up Sessions are recommended

Please Note
Before your appointment, please keep a Food Diary for 3 days. Bring your food diary along with your Pre- appointment Form, medication list, laboratory tests and any specific medical documentation (as available) to your appointment.

Nutrition consultations can also be done via phone.

Grocery Store Tours

Healthy eating starts in the grocery store! As we navigate the grocery store aisle by aisle, I can help you make healthier food choices. I will teach you how to read food labels, decipher ingredient lists, pick out on-the-go options, how to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet, provide grocery shopping and meal planning tips and answer your food and nutrition questions along the way.

Tours are an hour long and can also be individualized based on healthy needs: Heart Health, Gluten Free Eating and Diabetic Eating. This service is offered in addition to Nutrition Counseling Services.

“Pantry Raid”

During this hour long assessment of your kitchen, I will teach you to read nutrition labels and decipher ingredient lists. We will discuss pantry must-have ingredients to make healthier meals and snacks. Recommendations will be made in accordance with the individualized plan developed during your nutrition sessions. “Wellness at Work” Seminars

Are you working to make your office a healthy place for yourself and your employees? Wellness at Work Seminars are offered to small groups or large employers. Presentations and Seminars are individualized based on your group’s needs and size and are on a variety of nutrition and healthy lifestyle topics. Providing your employees with information about healthier lifestyle approaches can promote a healthier work environment and physical, mental and emotional well-being. Wellness programs have also been shown to enhance productivity, reduce absences and health care costs and just provide an overall more productive work environment.
